Square Sail, whenever possible throughout the season, offer sailing experiences to the general public.
All ages and abilities welcome
All ages are welcome – but under 18s must be accompanied by an adult and all participants must be reasonably fit and able.
No sailing experience is necessary for any of our sails.
The Phoenix is fully certificated by the appropriate maritime authorities, complies with all statutory regulations and has all necessary modern life saving appliances.
We regularly attend Maritime Festivals and where possible offer one-way voyages either to or from such events.
Occasionally we are able to provide complete, round trip packages to these Festivals.
All hands on deck
'Hands on' participation is always encouraged but not compulsory.
If you would like to get involved with helping the professional crew to sail the ship, this can include watch duty, taking the helm, assisting with setting the sails; helping out in the galley, washing down the decks etc.
You can participate as much or as little as you want – it is your decision.
Accommodation is in the form of two-berth cabins. All cabins are situated below decks. They are comfortable but basic, with limited storage space. The ship has showers, heads (toilets) a saloon area – (where meals are eaten and guests can relax) and a galley. All meals during the passages to and from festivals are provided and bedding is supplied.
For one-way voyages – please bear in mind that it is the responsibility of the individual passenger to make their own travel arrangements to and from the ship.
